Two Nepalese security guards found dead after fight under influence of alcohol

SEREMBAN: Two security guards, both from Nepal, were found dead with injuries to their faces in Taman Perindustrian Oakland here today.

The bodies of the victims, aged 35 and 46, were found lying on the floor inside premises which served as a workers' canteen.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Nanda Maarof said a man, also from Nepal and believed to be the manager of the canteen, was arrested to facilitate investigations into the case.

"A team was deployed to the scene after police were alerted to the discovery of the bodies at 6.25pm.

"Upon arrival at the scene, police found the bodies of the victims lying on the floor. A medical team later pronounced both victims dead.

"There were injuries to the faces of the victims as well as bloodstains at the scene," he said.

Nanda said police believed that an argument had broken out between the victims and that they were under the influence of alcohol.

He also said police found a hammer, believed to be the weapon, near the scene.

The case, he said, is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Nanda said police are still investigating the motive behind the incident and whether the man who was arrested was involved.

"We will view the recordings of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras placed in the vicinity of the scene," he said.
