ALOR STAR: A restaurant owner died after a scuffle with his worker in the back alley of his restaurant at Jalan Stadium, here, yesterday evening.
The victim, a 69-year-old man, collapsed after an altercation with the 55-year-old suspect about 5:15pm.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir confirmed receiving a report on the incident and that an investigation was ongoing.
"The incident occurred when the suspect, his wife, and daughter were at the restaurant working before he got into an argument with the restaurant owner.
"It was over some minor issue and the victim suddenly collapsed and died after the scuffle was over," he said when contacted.
He said police arrested the suspect to assist investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
He said a post mortem will be conducted at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital to ascertain the victim's cause of death.
"At this point, we are still conducting further investigation into this case.
"The cause of death will only be known after the post-mortem." he added.
