Cheras police tracking man who slashed two others with parang for allegedly disturbing wife

KUALA LUMPUR: The police are hunting down a local man who had gone missing after allegedly slashing two others in Cheras early yesterday morning.

The suspect, aged 45 from Mentakab, Pahang, was said to have fought with the two men aged 22 and 23 for "disturbing" his wife.

Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the police received information on the case which happened at Jalan Mutiara Raya in Cheras, at 4am yesterday.

"The crime prevention patrol unit from the Cheras police station rushed to the scene after receiving the information from the public, and found that an altercation took place and the two men were stabbed.

"Preliminary investigations found that both victims who were stabbed are badly injured," he said when contacted by Berita Harian today.

Zam Halim said based on the information obtained, the Cheras district police headquarters' Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism Division (D7) had detained a local woman, 39, at a residential area near Taman Seri Aman in Cheras.

"The woman's arrest was made following her possible collusion with the main suspect as she was also at the scene of the crime with the suspect when it happened," he added.
