Four Indonesians arrested for suspected involvement in murder case

KENINGAU: Police detained four Indonesian men suspected of murdering a man in Kampung Batu 27, Jalan Tenom-Keningau on August 27.

District police chief superintendent Yampil Anak Garai, said the Indonesian victim, aged 47, was found lying by passers-by at around 4pm.

"The victim was found lying unconscious in a plantation house but still breathing.

"He was then taken to Keningau Hospital for further treatment.

"However, he was confirmed dead the next day due to internal brain bleeding with a lump on the right side of his head," he said in a media statement last night.

Yampil said the police received a report related to the incident at 9.50pm on August 29.

"All four suspects, aged 17 to 37 and Indonesian citizens, were detained between 8am and 3pm by the roadside at Kampung Bunga Raya here, and in front of an unnumbered house in the Sapong-Tenom oil palm plantation," he said.

He said they were detained for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
