Manhunt underway: Ex-boyfriend wanted for alleged attack on woman [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: In a recent incident, police are hunting for an individual who was alleged to have assaulted a young woman inside a car.

Gombak District acting police chief Superintendent Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said they found a 22-second video recording of the incident that went viral on social media.

He stated that the initial investigation revealed the incident occurred at approximately 6pm last Monday.

According to him, the investigation found that the 21-year-old victim alleged that her 22-year-old former boyfriend had slapped her.

"The investigation also found that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding.

"As a result, the police are investigating the incident under Section 323 of the Penal Code (for voluntarily causing hurt).

"The public who may recognise the suspect or have information about the incident can contact the investigating officer, Inspector Nor Adiba Mohamad Nordin, at 012-8819215," said Noor Ariffin.
