Senior citizen nabbed with RM562,000 worth of narcotics and ill-gotten assets

MUAR: Police arrested a man in his 70s and seized about RM562,000 worth of narcotics and ill-gotten assets, in a house-raid along Jalan Ibrahim, near here, on Friday.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said based on intelligence-gathered, the narcotic department officers stormed the premises and recovered Eramin 5 pills, methamphetamine or shabu and heroin.

Also confiscated in the 10.30pm raid were a Mercedes-Benz, jewelleries and a luxury watch, believed to have been purchased with proceeds from the illicit drug operations.

Police also seized RM300 from the suspect.

"We believe the senior citizen is involved in drug-trafficking and is expected to be charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

"Although the drugs seized were not in massive amounts- 100 Eramin 5 pills, methamphetamine 80.40g and 109.56 grams of heroin worth about RM20,000, the properties forfeited are valued at RM541,300," he said.
