Wanted man in rooftop deck chase and 3 friends jailed 6 months for possession of stolen items

SHAH ALAM: Four men, including one who went viral for leading police on a rooftop chase on a flat block to evade arrest, were today sentenced to six months' jail by the magistrate's court for possession of stolen items earlier this month.

Muhammad Izuan Kamaruddin, Mohd Hafiz Abu Bakar, both 37, Muhamad Zul Irfan Muhamad Hamadi, 24, and Mohamad Aiman Farhan Alis, 26, pleaded guilty after two joint charges were read before magistrate Mohamed Redza Azhar Rezali.

Mohamed Redza ordered the quartet, who are odd job workers and factory operators, to serve the sentence from Nov 11 at 12.03am, the day they were arrested at Blok 19 of Pangsapuri PKNS in Section 20 here.

On both charges framed under Section 411 of the Penal Code read with Section 34, they were accused of possessing stolen items belonging to two victims, aged 60 and 44, such as a bag, several medical cards and a savings scheme card, a box of buttons and a pen drive.

Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Farah Sofea Norazman urged the court to impose a heavy sentence due to the gravity of the offences.

Meanwhile, at two other separate courts, the four also pleaded guilty to six similar charges under the same Section before magistrates Farah Rosnan and Muhammad Syafiq Sulaiman.
