Police identify charred remains of male victim in Puchong

SEPANG: The identity of the charred remains of a male victim found in the bushes near the D'Island quarry in Puchong yesterday has been determined.

Sepang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof confirmed that the body was that of a local man following the post-mortem.

"For now, the cause of death is believed to be suicide by burning. However, we need to wait for the results of the post-mortem examination to determine the actual cause of death if there are signs of foul play," he said when contacted by Harian Metro today.

Harian Metro reported yesterday that the body of a local man was found in the bushes with half of his body burned and his hands tied with a wire.

Wan Kamarul reportedly said that the police received a report of the discovery from the public at 8.01am.

He also said that the body was discovered near Sungai Rasau and approximately 10 metres from the Puchong-Cyberjaya Road.
