Police probing case of 10 dead cats in Jerantut Market

KUANTAN: Police have urged the public against speculating on the case where more than 10 cats were purportedly found drowned in hot water at the Jerantut Wholesale Market.

District police chief, Superintendent Azman Mat Kamis, said the alleged cause of death was not accurate and the police are still conducting further investigations.

"Police are still hunting for the perpetrators of the incident and urged anyone with information on the incident to come forward and assist in investigations," he said when contacted by Bernama today (December 1).

The case is being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code.

Recently, a post went viral on social media which showed more than 10 dead cats that were found on Wednesday (November 29), believed to have been drowned in hot water.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Animal Association has offered a reward of RM5,000 to identify those responsible for drowning the cats. — BERNAMA
