Zayn Rayyan murder: Suspect may have history of sexual crimes

PETALING JAYA: Police are not ruling out the possibility that the suspect in the Zayn Rayyan murder case has a history of past crimes, including sexual offences.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, assured that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted, including a review of the criminal records of residents in the nearby area.

"This includes mass screening involving fingerprint data of individuals with criminal records, including groups involved in sexual offences.

"In addition, those under police scrutiny, whether local residents or from outside the area, will all be given attention," he told reporters when met at the Damansara Damai Apartment premises, here today.

Earlier, the New Straits Times reported that the police hope the fingerprint and DNA evidence believed to belong to the suspect can help identify Zayn Rayyan's murderer.

Hussein said the results of fingerprint and DNA tests are expected to be obtained within the next two to three days, and it is hoped that they will help identify the involved suspect.
