Zayn Rayyan murder: Police investigation enters 6th day, new leads to be uncovered

PETALING JAYA: Police are in their sixth day of investigation into the death of 6-year-old autistic boy, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, at Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, here today.

An inspection at the scene revealed that a team of police officers, along with the Forensic Unit believed to be from the Selangor police headquarters, arrived at the location at around 11.45am.

It is understood that their presence at the site is to carry out an investigation to uncover new evidence and clues that may aid in the ongoing case.

Also seen at the location were personnel from the Selangor Department of Irrigation and Drainage. It is reported that the department will assist the police in extracting water from the reservoir near the location where Zayn Rayyan's body was discovered on Dec 6.

Sounds of water being pumped have been heard since 12.20pm today when the area experienced heavy rain.

Earlier, Zayn Rayyan's body was found in a water channel near a reservoir, about 200m from his home in Block R of the mentioned apartment, around 10pm on Dec 6.

Zayn Rayyan's death was later classified as murder after a post-mortem examination revealed injuries to the child's neck and body.
