PETALING JAYA: Police have recorded Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang's statement over his article about Malaysia having a non-Malay PM.

Rusdi confirmed that Lim's statement touched on Constitutional issues, namely regarding the appointment of the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

"The writing investigated is titled 'Malaysian Constitution Provides For a Malaysian Dream And Not a Mono-Ethnic Dream As It Provides That a Non-Malay Can Be a Prime Minister'," he had said.

Prior to that, Lim had also confirmed in a statement that he was summoned by the police over the article on his blog, which he had written while travelling to Manchester in United States on Nov 29.

Lim had clarified that the statement related to the 'Malaysian Dream' was made when speaking in front of Malaysian students there.

In a statement on his social media, Lim claimed that the Federal Constitution does not prevent any non-Malay from becoming Prime Minister.
