Police tracking alleged stalker in Mont Kiara

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are currently tracking an individual who is alleged to have stalked a woman in an incident at Arcoris Mont Kiara, here, on Jan 15.

Brickfields District police chief assistant commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the police received a report from a local woman, aged 29, regarding the incident at 7:16 pm last Sunday.

He said the incident is believed to have occurred around 11 am on Jan 15 at Arcoris Mont Kiara.

"Initial police investigations found that the suspect was stalking the complainant from behind to Kiara 163 on Jalan Kiara, here.

"During the incident, the complainant was walking alone and recorded a video of the suspect tailing her," he said in a statement.

Amihizam said the complainant also uploaded two video recordings, each lasting 10 minutes, through a social media posting and received 3,400 likes, 44 comments, and 2,000 shares.

"Efforts to track down and identify the suspect are ongoing. The case is being investigated under Section 507A of the Penal Code.

"Any information related to the suspect can be channelled to the Brickfields Police Hotline at 03-22979222, the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999, or any nearby police station," he said.

He also advised the public to not speculate on the case.
