Family business dispute at Pandamaran Sports Complex

KUALA LUMPUR: A 28-year-old woman filed a police report following an altercation within her family, who were managing multiple business stalls at the Pandamaran Sports Complex, Klang.

It was found that the complainant and three members of her family had set up several stalls to conduct business.

A dispute arose when goods from the complainant's aunt's stall blocked the passage between two stalls, leading to a confrontation between the complainant's mother and her aunt.

This verbal confrontation escalated into a physical altercation among family members, which was later resolved by the intervention of other family members and nearby stall vendors.

Subsequently, a verbal altercation ensued, leading to a physical confrontation among family members. The altercation was later diffused by family members and nearby stall vendors.

Klang Selatan district police chief, assistant commissioner Cha Hoong Fong, said the incident happened at 7:30pm on Dec 31, 2023.

"The police obtained statements from six individuals involved in the altercation and found that no one suffered injuries.

"Since the altercation occurred among family members, all parties involved declined to pursue a police investigation and reconciled amicably," he said in a statement.

He also noted the existence of a video recording of the altercation circulating on social media and advised the public not to share it to prevent causing distress to the local community.

"However, the police urge anyone with additional information regarding this incident to come forward to the nearby police station or contact the South Klang District Police Headquarters at 03-33762222 to assist in the investigation."
