Teen girl abducted by ex-boyfriend following breakup

KUALA LUMPUR: A teenage girl who was abducted in front of a school in Kepong yesterday was taken following a break-up with her boyfriend.

Gombak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the victim, 17, was forcibly pulled into a car before being taken to a homestay.

However, the victim was released around 12pm the same day and was unharmed.

"After investigation, the police apprehended three suspects, two men and a woman aged between 19 and 20 years old at about 11.30pm on the day of the incident to assist in the investigation.

"The victim had recognised the suspect, who was also her ex-boyfriend.

"The suspect was unhappy that the victim decided to end the relationship," he said in a statement today.

He said all suspects were being remanded for four days starting yesterday until Jan 9.

The police also seized a white Toyota car and a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle.

Noor Ariffin said the arrest was made after police received a complaint from the victim's 42-year-old mother at 10.36am.

"The woman was informed of the incident by her child's teacher."

The case is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.
