5 held over brawl at KL fast food outlet [Watch]

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested five individuals over a brawl at a fast food outlet in Bukit Bintang here.

Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya, in a statement, said police had arrested the individuals following the emergence of a video that showed a brawl outside the premises of the fast food restaurant.

He said that on Feb 5, at 11.50am, the police received a report regarding a video that showed an altercation in front of a business premise at Jalan Bukit Bintang.

"Following the investigations, police have detained five individuals, consisting of locals aged 20 years old and a foreign national aged 33.



"They were believed to be involved in an altercation that occurred on Feb 4 at 8.30pm."

Noor Dellhan said the case was being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.

He said the four locals were remanded for a day today, while the foreign national was remanded for four days from today until Friday.

Earlier, video footage of the brawl surfaced on social media, showing several of the fast food restaurant workers exchanging kicks and blows against a man.

The video has since garnered more than 1.2 million views.
