Teen held for performing wheelies on NSE

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested an 18-year-old boy who performed wheelies on a busy stretch of the North-South Expressway (NSE) yesterday.

Federal Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri yesterday said the incident, which occurred on Oct 2, had led to the arrest of the teenager in Penang.

"We tracked down the suspect and arrested him in Seberang Prai Utara, Penang, on Saturday at 7.15pm.

"The suspect said that he was travelling from Sungai Petani to Butterworth, and his friend had recorded the stunts."

He said the case was being investigated for reckless and dangerous driving.

It carries a jail term of up to five years imprisonment and a fine of between RM5,000 and RM15,000 upon conviction.
