Five-year-old boy dies after falling into pool from 21st floor

SERDANG: A five-year-old boy from Yemen died after falling into a pool from the 21st floor of a condominium in Bandar Putra Permai, here, yesterday.

Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner A A Anbalagan, said the police received a call about the incident at 2.42pm.

According to him, examination found that the left leg of the boy was broken, and there was bleeding from the ears and nose.

"Based on investigations, two security guards patrolling around the pool area saw a child floating in the pool and unconscious.

"They informed the management before the latter 999.

"The victim's father, who arrived at the scene, lifted his son's body and placed it on a stone chair," he said in a statement today.

He said the initial investigation found that during the incident, the victim's parents were in the bedroom while the victim was in the living room.

"The victim is suspected to have fallen through the window in the living room of their house," he said.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
