2 mums among 3 charged with trafficking women for sexual exploitation

JOHOR BARU: Two mothers and an Indonesia woman were today charged with trafficking two women for sexual exploitation last month.

However, no plea was recorded from the accused, Lu Yon Moi, 65, Tin Chee Keng, 42, and Indonesian Nurul Hasanah, 26, before magistrate A. Shaarmini.

According to the first charge, all three accused are jointly charged with trafficking an Indonesian woman, 25, for sexual exploitation through deception in Kampung Baru Masai near Pasir Gudang between March 17 and 20 about 9pm.

The three accused are also charged with the same act against an Iban woman, 29, from March 14 to 19 about 3pm in a massage parlour in Seri Alam.

Deputy public prosecutor R. Kodesviary prosecuted while the accused were represented by lawyer Baharudin Baharim.

Kodesviary requested bail for the accused to be set at RM30,000 each. However Baharudin requested a reduction in the amount.

The court then set bail at RM20,000 each with two sureties for Lu and Tin, while Nurul Hasanah was granted bail at RM30,000 with two sureties, and ordered to surrender her passport to the court.

The case mention is set for May 8.
