Tengku Zafrul tightlipped over Umno president's affidavit

SERENDAH: Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz has declined to provide explanations regarding the factual errors found in the affidavit submitted by Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Despite calls for clarification, the investment, trade and industry minister has maintained that he will not comment on the matter.

"As I mentioned in my press statement the other day, I have no further comments," Tengku Zafrul told the press conference at the construction commencement ceremony for MCE Holdings Bhd's (MCE) Auto Hub here today.

Tengku Zafrul is seeking to file an affidavit to correct "factual errors" in another affidavit, which claimed that former Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had, in an addendum order, granted house arrest to Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Tengku Zafrul said this came about after he had sighted a supplementary affidavit by Ahmad Zahid regarding Najib's application to compel the government to produce the addendum order.

He would be taking steps to obtain appropriate legal advice.
