Klang snatch thief arrested in Langkawi

KLANG: A suspect who robbed a 20-year-old woman of her bag in Klang was arrested by Langkawi police a week later.

Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong today said the suspect was nabbed by tourist police about 4.15pm yesterday.

"Acting on a tip off, the suspect, 24, was arrested in front of Medan Selera Penarak in Kuah.

"The suspect has criminal and drug records.

"Investigators seized items that will help in the investigation."

Cha said the Klang magistrate's court today granted a four-day remand on the suspect until April 25.

On April 15 about 8.50am, the victim was riding her motorcycle to work on Persiaran Raja Muda Musa, near SMK Perempuan Raja Zarina, when she was struck by the suspect.

The suspect, he added, who was riding a motorcycle, had approached the victim from the back and pulled her bag strapped across her body.

She fell and sustained injuries.

The bag contained an iPhone 14, a wallet with personal documents and RM114 cash.
