Bomb explosion in Narathiwat injures 2 Malaysian women

NARATHIWAT: Two Malaysian women sustained injuries in a bomb explosion along Phu Pha Phak Di road in Mueang district here in Thailand.

The victims, identified as 38-year-old Hariza Aziz and 31-year-old Siti Aishah Ismail, from Kelantan, suffered injuries across their bodies and are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.

According to a spokesperson for Thai security, the explosion occurred around 9.35pm (Thai time) while the two women were passing through the area.

"The bomb, concealed within a motorcycle parked alongside the roadside, caused extensive damage to more than five motorcycles in the vicinity."

Narathiwat district police chief Colonel Pratya Baite, confirmed the incident, saying investigations were underway.

Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the individuals responsible for this alarming act of violence.
