Teacher, clerk charged with submitting fake MCs

SHAH ALAM: A primary school teacher and a clerk today claimed trial in the two Magistrate's Courts to four charges of cheating a school by submitting fake medical certificates (MC).

Teacher Zainuddin Deraman, 40, and clerical staff Saiful Rizal Mohd Haris, 27, were accused of committing the offences at the administration office of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Subang Bestari 2, between Sept 5 last year and Jan 18, 2017.

Both men were charged with cheating Sapiah Jaffar, 54, into believing that the four medical certificates submitted to her, were genuine.

Zainuddin was charged before magistrate Siti Shakirah Mohtarudin while Saiful appeared before magistrate P. Sarulatha.

Deputy public prosecutors Khairul Aisamuddin Abdul Rahman and Nurul Huda Ramli urged the courts to impose RM8,000 and RM5,000 bail, for each charge, on Zainuddin and Saiful, respectively.

Counsel Dony Abdullah who appeared for both men told the court that Zainuddin was married with wife and children while Saiful who has two children, was earning only a small salary.

"They have their responsibilities and have to support their families."

Sarulatha set bail at RM2,500 for each charge with one surety.

The cases have been fixed for mention on May 12.
