KPKT approves RM11 million through TP1M for Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has approved an allocation of RM11 million through the 1Malaysia Maintenance Fund (TP1M) for upgrading and beautification of 17 medium-low and low cost flat housing in Terengganu since 2014 until last year.

Its deputy minister, Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique said the allocation given to the flat housing projects which were built more than 10 years ago covered the repair cost of their perimeter fencing and roof, painting of the buildings, upgrading or replacement of damaged lifts and wiring.

She said among the flat housing projects that had received the allocation were the Flat Seri Kolam, Wisma Air Jernih, Kondo Rakyat, Wisma Ria and Wisma Ladang in Kuala Terengganu.

"The allocation is given to uplift the quality of life of the people and to give more comfort to residents of the flat housing.

“Flat housing management that have yet to submit their application can do so through the joint management body of their respective flats to the Mayor or the local council president,” she said.

She told reporters this after the handing-over of the Seri Kolam Flat, which had benefited from the TP1M allocation, to the flat management here last night.

Also present was State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jidin Shafee.

Halimah said the Seri Kolam Flat received an allocation of RM1.8 million for repair and upgrading of the flat which included new fencing, roof, repainting of the buildings and installation of new wiring.

The ministry also approved RM200,000 for the construction of a futsal court at the six blocks flat building which has 1,500 occupants.

She advised residents to take good care of the facilities provided at the flat. — BERNAMA
