Speaker calls Sabah government to give priority to MA63

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government needs to continue pursuing rights enshrined under the Malaysian Agreement 1963 (MA63).

In his opening remarks at th Special Sabah Legislative Assembly Sitting, Speaker Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali said the agreement is important and it has to be returned to people of Sabah.

“I am putting high hopes on Sabah government under Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal to continue the struggle for the state," he said.

Syed Abas it was also encouraging to note there are two new ministries tasked to uphold the MA63.

Syed Abas also congratulated all elected representatives in winning their seats in the 14th General Election and hope they will fulfill their responsibilities to the people.

He added while many assemblymen are new, their combination with the experienced leaders will allow them to serve the people of Sabah.
