KUALA LUMPUR: The government is expanding opportunities for more Bumiputra contractors to take part in its procurement programme.
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said, in order to do this, the government had reopened the registration for Grade 1 Bumiputera contractors beginning on Sept 1 this year.
“As of end-September 2019, a total of 946 applications have been received.
“Existing and newly-registered contractors will get to bid for government jobs worth RM1.3 billion, dedicated solely for Bumiputera contractors,” he said during the tabling of the 2020 Budget.
