KUALA LUMPUR: Fully vaccinated university students can return to their respective higher learning institutions in stages starting Oct 15.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the return of fully vaccinated students to their campuses is applicable to all categories and all phases of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
"During the pandemic period, the safety of students is important in all higher education institutions which are guided by advice and direction from the National Security Council (NSC) and Health Ministry.
"A total 1.2 million students in higher academic institutions nationwide have undergone virtual teaching and learning (PdP) activities for more than three consecutive semesters.
"This presents a great challenge to them, especially from a psychological point of view and mental resilience in facing the education process in the country," she said during a live broadcast aired over the ministry's Facebook.
