DPM Zahid visits ailing girl during working trip to Semporna

SEMPORNA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s first item in his agenda during his work visit here was to meet a 13-year-old girl suffering from a heart condition.

During his 9.30am visit to Kampung Labuan Senang here, Zahid also handed over financial assistance to Nor Rodiatul Muhammad Isah Hasshim, to help cover the cost of treatment for her heart surgery.

The father of the teen, who is the eldest of eight siblings, has stopped working as a security guard to care for her.

“We thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for coming down all the way here to see us. Hopefully, my daughter can get her treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the state capital, next month,” said Rodiatul’s housewife mother, Salmiza Sabu, 35.

Zahid, who is also Home Minister, will launch the Semporna Al-Quran Studies Academy at Jalan Bugaya here, later today.
