KUALA LUMPUR: A four-year-old boy was killed when he fell from the balcony of his 17th floor apartment unit at Lorong Haji Hussein here, early this morning.
Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sukri Kaman said that during the incident, the child was at home with his grandparents.
At the time, the victim’s parents were at the National Heart Institute, where the boy’s elder sister was scheduled to undergo an operation.
“Checks at the scene revealed that the door to the balcony was open, and that there were two chairs there, believed to be used by the victim to climb onto the railing, before he slipped and fell,” Sukri said, adding that the police were alerted to the incident at 5.46am.
The case has been classified as sudden death. Police have ruled out foul play.
