King's birthday to be celebrated on last Saturday of July until 2021

PUTRAJAYA: The birthday of the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, will be celebrated on the last Saturday of July during his reign until 2021.

The Prime Minister's Department, in a statement today, said the government has agreed for the annual celebration to be moved from the first Saturday of June to the last Saturday of July from this year to 2021.

"The amendment was made considering that the first Saturday of June for the next three years will fall on the month of Ramadhan," read the statement.

The King's birthday will be celebrated on July 29 this year.

"With the amendment, the King's birthday will be celebrated with the people through various activities and programmes planned out for the grand event," it added.
