Families left homeless after storm damages residences

KUALA LUMPUR: Four families were relocated to a community hall in Taman Ikan Emas here after the roof of their apartment building was stripped off by strong winds today.

The afternoon storm damaged five units located at the top floor of the apartment building.

City Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said a total of 18 adults and two children from four families were relocated to the community hall nearby.

It was also learnt that the roof, which was ripped off the building, had landed on several motorcycles parked around the apartment's compound.

Khirudin however said no casualties were recorded in the incident.
