Selangor Sultan, Tengku Permaisuri visit Sekinchan

KUALA SELANGOR: Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and his consort, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin are on a half day official visit to Sekinchan today.

The royal couple, who arrived at Restaurant Hao Xiang Chi Seafood at about 9am, are scheduled to visit several tourist hotspots in Sekinchan, dubbed as Selangor's rice bowl and popular for its vast paddy fields.

They were welcomed by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and his line of assemblymen, Ng Suee Lim, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, Elizabeth Wong, Ean Yong Hian Wah, Shuhaimi Shafiei, Zaidy Abdul Talib, Sallehen Mukhyi as well as Dr Xavier Jayakumar.

Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin first visited the Ah Ma House, a kampung house by the paddy field which sells traditional biscuits such as kuih kapit and kuih bangkit.

From House of Ah Ma, the royal couple went on a buggy ride to Sekinchan rice processing factory, PLS Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd in Jalan Tali Air 5.

Sultan Sharafuddin also operated a paddy harvesting machine at a nearby paddy field.

The official visit will see the royal couple making a stop at the Khind factory and ends at Wisma Masri, famous for its kuih bahulu and small medium industry products.
