Media Prima Labs, Harian Metro launch MetroTV app

KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd’s digital arm, Media Prima Labs (MPLabs) and Malay daily, Harian Metro, today launched the MetroTV mobile application.

The launch, which took place at Glasshouse in Seputeh was attended by more than 100 guests and celebrities.

MetroTV is a news application that is set to offer exclusive video contents featuring a wide variety of daily news focusing on human interest, crime, sports, entertainment, and politics.

Present at the launched were New Straits Times Press (NSTP) chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid, Harian Metro group editor Datuk Mustapa Omar and Media Prima Digital chief executive officer Rafiq Razali.

Mustapa said MetroTV will enable subscribers to watch live news coverage, anywhere, anytime.

“MetroTV will further strengthen the status of Harian Metro as the popular Malay-language newspaper,” he said, adding that the app is set to become the benchmark of convergence between the traditional and new media.

Among the news segment featured on MetroTV app are Kalender Jenayah, Metro@7, Kafe Ahad, Eksklusif, HM viral, and Suara Maya.

MetroTV is available for both Apple and Android users.
