DBKL absorbs trading licenses cost for traders at Kampung Baru Ramadan bazaar

KUALA LUMPUR: To provide more convenience for consumers as well as the traders, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is absorbing the cost of trading licenses for those setting up stall at the Kampung Baru Ramadan bazaar.

This was announced by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor after he launched the bazaar today.

“This was upon the request of Titiwangsa MP Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani and I thought if it is for the benefit of the people, why not?” Tengku Adnan said to reporters.

The traders, who had earlier paid for the licenses, will be reimbursed accordingly.

This year the 128 stalls at the Kampung Baru Ramadan bazaar came equipped with fans, and are more spacious with improved shelter for rainy days.

“City Hall and Kampung Baru Development Corporation (KBCorp) have answered the government’s call to give more comfort to traders and customers during Ramadan.

“After the improvements seen here, we will spread the same concept to other areas like Sentul, Kampung Datuk Keramat, Masjid India and so on, in stages,” Tengku Adnan said.

Also present at the launch were Johari, Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz, Kuala Lumpur City Hall executive director (planning) Datuk Mohd Najib Mohd and KBCorp chairman Datuk Affendi Zahari.
