JEMPOL: Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad was conspicuously absent from a Bantuan Hari Raya programme in Dewan Feldajaya, this morning.
Isa, who is also Jempol member of parliament, was scheduled to deliver donations to the needy at the programme, organised by Jempol Baitulmal and the state Islamic religious council.
He was also scheduled to present donations to 352 aid recipients at the event.
An event spokesperson said Isa had cancelled his attendance only this morning.
This was confirmed by Isa’s representative.
The event was instead officiated by Palong legislative assembly Datuk Lilah Yasin.
Earlier this morning, reports emerged that Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob is slated to replace Isa as FGV chairman.
Sources had indicated that a formal announcement on the matter would be made later today.
