300 participate in Malaysia Quran Hour

KUALA TERENGGANU: About 300 people participated in the Malaysia Quran Hour event held at Permai Hotel, Batu Burok here.

Permai Hotel General Manager Noralizan Abd Rahman said the participants included students, hotel staff and staff of government-linked companies who recited the Quran led by Che Mohd Fakrul Rozi Che Ismail, the imam of Masjid Tengku Nik Haji, Batu Burok.

"The response was good and we have decided to organise a similar event next year. The programme helps forge closer relation among our staff and the local community," she said.

"Apart from reciting the Quran for one hour, the event started with a Tadabbur or translation of the verses. The recitation was led by Che Mohd Fakrul Rozi Che Ismail," she said, adding that the hotel later distributed 6,000 Nekbat to participants and visitors.

The nationwide's programme today, was organised by Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas (WUI) in cooperation with Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) as well as the International Islamic University (UIA).
