KOTA BARU: More than 2,000 asnaf (eligible recipients) and university students received tithe payments during a Ziarah Kasih Ramadan Al-Mubarak 2017 programme near Ketereh here today.
The programme, which was held at the Kelantan Poverty Foundation, was organised by Tabung Haji (TH).
Presenting the aid was Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.
In his speech, Abdul Azeez said the fund is a portion of the RM52 million tithe payment collected by TH last year.
"Tabung Haji decided to organise the programme at 67 locations nationwide and Ketereh was the 61st destination.
"It has been the government's hope, especially that of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, to hand over the funds to the needy," he said.
Also present during the function were the foundation's chairman, Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Kok Lanas assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Alwi Che Ahmad.
