Johor Sultan, royals celebrate Aidilfitri with dignitaries, the community

JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and the Johor royal family celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the people and several dignitaries today.

After having breakfast at Istana Pasir Pelangi, Sultan Ibrahim and his sons, Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman, and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar, joined Johoreans for the solat sunat Aidilfitri at Masjid Pasir Pelangi.

The day was extra special for the royal family as it was the first birthday of the ruler's first grandchild, Tunku Kalsom Aminah Sofiah Tunku Ismail.

After prayers, the ruler and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah granted an audience to state executive council members in Istana Bukit Serene.

Sultan Ibrahim later attended the open house of state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani at his official residence before joining thousands at Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin's open house at the latter's official residence, Saujana.

At noon, Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah granted an audience to two ministers from Singapore who conveyed their Hari Raya greetings to the ruler on behalf of the government and people of Singapore.

The two ministers were the republic's Minister of Health Gan Kim Yong and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.
