June 26, 2pm: Traffic slow-moving on most major highways

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow on all major highways seems to be slowing on the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Bernama’s morning report had forecast smooth traffic for the day, but road accidents continue to occur, causing congestion.

Plus Malaysia Bhd’s twitter (@plustrafik) feed reported several accidents along major roads.

A mishap occurred at 11.16am at Km11.8 of ELITE USJ-Putra Heights which blocked the right lane, slowing down motorists.

Later in the afternoon, an accident took place at Km202.5 (northbound) from Taiping to Bukit Merah, which was resolved by 1.25pm.

On northbound and southbound highways, accidents were reported at Km262.0 from Seremban to Port Dickson; and at Km81.4 from Gurun to Pendang, respectively.

Traffic flow along the North-South Expressway is also considerably slow due to heavy vehicle volume.

On southbound highways, traffic is at a crawl from Seremban to Senawang RnR, from Ayer Hitam to Yong Peng, and from Skudai to Kulai.

Congestion is also reported on other northbound highways – from Jelapang to the Menora Tunnel, from Autocity to Juru, from Bandar Cassia to Jawi, from Permatang Pauh to Sungai Dua, and from Sungai Petani Utara to Gurun.
