"We are focusing on three areas, namely bio-industry, bio-health and bio-agriculture. We want to develop these areas in order to create job opportunities for the people of Johor," said Khaled.

The menteri besar was speaking to the media after attending the open house of Pasir Gudang Member of Parliament Datuk Normala Abd Samad.

Khaled was commenting on a statement by Bioeconomy Corp senior vice president (bio-industrial) Zainal Azman Abu Kassim that the world's first bio-based chemical manufacturing plant is expected to begin operations in Johor in 2019.
