KUANTAN: Members of the public now have the opportunity to view and air their thoughts on the draft of the Kuantan District Locality Plan 2035.
This followed the launch of the Publicity and Public Participation in the Kuantan District Locality Plan 2035 Draft at the Rumah Tamu & Kelab Pegawai Kerajaan Seri Gelora, here this morning.
At the sidelines of the launch, State Housing and Municipal Committee chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the event is vital as a platform for the public to view the draft plan and provide feedback.
"This is very important for the state government and Pahang community as it gives a platform for public participation in giving suggestions before implementation (of the plan)," he said.
To allow as much public participation as possible, he said the public viewings would be held at various accessible locations here for a month from today.
Among the places where the public viewings would be held are the Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK), Jalan Tanah Putih; Dewan Orang Ramai Gambang, Gambang; PlanMalaysia@Pahang, Bandar Indera Mahkota; and Urban Transformation Centre(UTC), Jalan Stadium.
"If any member of the public wishes for an extension (of the event), we will consider it as we want the people to truly understand (the plan)," he said.
He added that the government would ensure the public is on board with the plan as this can ensure a positive long term impact on the state such as in terms of the economy.
