Etiqa's Free Mammogram Programme for underprivileged women

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians have been urged to be aware of their health.

President and Medical Director of National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), Dr Saunthari Somasundaram said that it is mostly a feeling of fear rather than ignorance that Malaysians have a perception towards their own health.

"Malaysians have to value our health especially during our teenage years by going for regular medical check-ups, she said at a press conference by NCSM, held in conjunction with the launch of Etiqa's Free Mammogram Programme here today.

The free one-year mammogram programme, enables underprivileged women aged 40 and above to have free breast cancer screenings.

"This programme will hopefully educate women about breast cancer and to create more awareness throughout the year in every region in Malaysia," Dr Saunthari added.
