Jeffrey Cheah, Vivy Yusof among Malaysians honoured at Asean@50 awards

Hosted by the Asean Business Advisory Council (Asean-BAC), the Asean@50 Achievement Awards form part of the activities in celebrating Asean's 50th anniversary this year.

The highest recognition of the night was presented to Sunway Group chairman, Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah; who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution and achievement, not only to Malaysia but other Asean countries and beyond.

Other recipients of the night included YTL Corporation Berhad, which was presented the Golden Jubilee Award, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, presented to Fashion Valet co-founder, Vivy Yusof.

The awards were presented by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, accompanied by International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

Asean-BAC Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid said the event is the first of many occasions that will reflect and celebrate Asean's golden jubilee this year.

"These events will help raise Asean's profile among Asean people, even as it must be realised that much remains to be done to give content to form," he said.
