“Unlike normal food courts, it offers a comfortable and relaxing ambience. I always bring my friends from Mumbai, India to Ming Tien for them to try out the good variety of foods.

Facebook user Jet Ng, however, was glad that the closing of Ming Tien was to pave way for better development.

“Love the night out with beer and football. Gonna miss it,” he wrote.

It is learnt that Ming Tien will close its door on Oct 31 while Asia Café will be closed by the end of this year.

Ming Tien’s spokesperson said the closure was to make way for a new development, a 31-storey serviced apartment, retail and office space, by PPB Group Bhd.

It was reported that Asia Café general manager Raymond Khoo said the eatery would be demolished to make way for a Small-office Home-office (SoHo) project.
