Johor royal wedding: Betrothal, marriage solemnisation completed

JOHOR BARU: Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim and Dennis Muhammad Abdullah’s betrothal and marriage solemnisation ceremonies have taken place at the Istana Bukit Serene here.

It is learnt that Dennis was successful in saying his wedding vow once, and the couple exchanged rings as a sign of the completion of the solemnisation ceremony.

Images of the event were exclusively posted to the Johor Southern Tigers (JST) Facebook page, which has been swarmed by netizens.

The stunning bride, Tunku Tun Aminah, 31, wore a champagne-white Baju Kurung Teluk Belanga, with a matching veil; while Dennis wore a matching Baju Melayu Teluk Belanga with a white sampin and black songkok.

Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah, who were present at the event, wore a pink Baju Melayu Teluk Belanga and yellow Baju Kurung, respectively.

Royal family members such as Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, his consort Che' Puan Khaleeda Bustamam, and their daughter Tunku Khalsom Aminah Sofiah were also pictured dressed in striking traditional attire.

Dennis' mother, Henriette Verbaas, was also photographed. In one image, she is seen slipping on Tunku Tun Aminah's ring. The mother, decked in a blue Baju Kurung and veil, appeared teary-eyed as she embraced Dennis, as others from the Dutch side of the family looked on.
