Interim chairman to be appointed for SPAD with Isa's arrest: Nancy

KUALA LUMPUR: An interim chairman for the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) will be appointed within the board members said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

The position held by Tan Sri Isa Samad has since been vacant after his arrest by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) yesterday.

Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said following the recent events, an interim chairman will be chosen among the SPAD board members.

“It is unfair to speculate as he was just detained, however, the management will continue to proceed as usual,” Nancy said at the event Aspirasi Generasi Inovasi here.

“We cannot be sure how long the interim chairman will hold the position as the case has just begun,” she added, when questioned on the duration that the interim chairman will be helming the position.

Isa, who is also the former Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) chairman, was nabbed when he presented himself at MACC headquarters yesterday.

Two months ago, the Prime Minister's Office had announced that Isa has been appointed acting chairman of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
