PLUS to offer rebates up to 30 per cent on Aug 29 and Sept 4

KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS highway users who use the PLUSMiles card will receive a 30 per cent rebate on toll charges in conjunction with the National Day and Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations.

PLUS Malaysia Berhad managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said the rebate was offered for two days – Aug 29 and Sept 4.

He said Touch ‘n Go card users also had the opportunity to enjoy 10 per cent toll rebate on the same dates.

“The people still need to pay the toll at the normal rate, and the 30 per cent and 10 per cent rebate will be inserted in the PLUSMiles card and Touch ‘n Go card when they reload their cards at the PLUS customer service centres between Sept 15 and Dec 14,” he added in a statement here today.

However, Azman said the rebate would not cover transactions at the Bukit Kayu Hitam toll plaza, Sultan Iskandar Building, Tanjung Kupang and Penang Bridge.

According to him, the toll rebate was only given to users of Class 1 vehicles (cars or lightweight vehicles with two axles and three or four wheeled vehicles, except taxis) which travel for more than 100km.

Azman said the rebate was part of PLUS’s efforts to manage traffic flow during the festive season and appreciate public support for PLUS Highway services.

PLUS also expects traffic volume on the North-South Expressway to increase by 21 per cent to 1.7 million vehicles during the holiday season, compared to 1.4 million vehicles daily on normal days.

Azman said PLUS had also issued a Travel Time Advisory (TTA) for trips along the North-South highway between Aug 25 and Sept 4.

“The TTA is PLUS’ approach to distribute traffic and reduce congestion on highways, toll plazas and rest areas,” he said. – BERNAMA
