Sabah declares Sept 4 a public holiday as well

KOTA KINABALU: The Chief Minister office today announced that Sept 4 will be a public holiday in Sabah.

The statement was made following the similar announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak just after midnight in Kuala Lumpur.

"(It is made) in recognition of the outstanding performance of Malaysian athletes at the recently concluded Sea Games," read the statement from the office.

Malaysia emerged as the overall champion of the games, winning 145 gold, 92 silver and 86 bronze medals.
