Najib to discuss Rohingya issue with Trump: DPM

KEMAMAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has the Cabinet’s full support in raising the Rohingya issue during his meeting with United States President Donald Trump.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Najib will represent the voice of the Malaysian people, who are seeking Trump’s assistance to put an end to the violence against the Rohingya in Myanmar.

“Although it is not our problem, we look at the issue from a humanitarian perspective.

“We will further amplify our concern in a gathering on Dec 4. This will be a gathering of Malaysians irrespective of political inclination, race or religion.

“We also hope to use the United Nations as a platform to send a message protesting against the Rohingya genocide,” he said during the Kemaman Umno divisional delegates’ meeting in Chukai here, today.

Zahid said Malaysians should be grateful as the people here are able to live peacefully together despite coming from different racial and religious backgrounds.
