Crocodile in Klang River triggers massive jam along LDP

SHAH ALAM: The presence of a crocodile in Sungai Klang, near the Puchong Batu 13 toll plaza, caused traffic to come to a standstill this morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations management officer Alimaddia Bukri said the sighting of the reptile, estimated to be about 4m long, had attracted the attention of hundreds of road users, who stopped their vehicles to watch it swimming in the river about 9am.

“Following the sighting, a member of the public contacted us at 9.10am. We despatched five firemen from the Subang station to respond to the call.

“When they arrived at the scene, the firemen saw the crocodile swimming in the middle of the river. The department then contacted the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) for further action,” he said.

Alimaddia said firemen deployed to the scene monitored the situation to ensure no untoward incident.
